Thanh Hoa, The Staging Post for Visiting Some Wonderful Destinations

Thanh Hoa is a developing city located about 150km south of Hanoi and is a staging post for some wonderful tourist destinations in the region. For example, Sam Son is a coastal resort town just 16kms from the city has a beautiful white sandy beach. Visit Sam Son bathe and relax. Near Sam Son, there are also some excellent tourist spots, such as the Doc Cuoc Temple, Trong Mai Rock and Co Tien Mountain.

Thanh Hoa and the Ben En National Park

Travelers can also enjoy Ben En National Park, located in Nhu Thanh, Nhu Xuan districts. The Ngoc Cave is also situated here and includes an array of wild animals to see including gibbons and elephants. This park also houses Song Muc Lake which is must see, along with majestic hills, rivers, mountains, tropical forests as well as plentiful springs. The Ben En National Park is an excellent choice for travel, sightseeing or if you love the study of the sciences. This is a special place in Vietnam.

A Historical Tourism Destination

Thanh Hoa is considered a historical tourism destination. It is close to the Lam Kinh Remains, Ham Rong Bridge, and the Ho Dynasty Citadel. Lam Kinh is both the birthplace of Le Loi and the Lam Son revolution. Furthermore, in 2011, the Ho Dynasty Citadel was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Since that time, the authorities of Thanh Hoa have made greater efforts to protect this site.

While this city itself is not on many travelers bucket lists, the surrounding areas offer a wealth of possibilities. The nightlife is basicaly non-existent, but for a rare insight into everyday Vietnamese life, to enjoy some fantastic street food or to just laze the day away drinking Vietnamese coffee maybe this is the place for you.
