Day 1: Saigon to Vung Tau
Late Morning in Vung Tau
Head out in the morning and make your way to your hotel. Vung Tau has a variety of hotels ranging from luxury to the cheaper motel and guest house. In Vung Tau there will be a hotel for a traveller on any budget. However, if you are travelling over the weekend, you should reserve your room first.
After checking into your hotel, grab your bathers and your towel and spend the afternoon lazing away on the beach and maybe some seafood for a late lunch. Then it’s time for a nap to recharge the batteries for a late afternoon site seeing, to discover some of the monuments and tourist sites of Vung Tau.
Afternoon Exploring Vung Tau

Nightlife in Vung Tau
Take a stroll along the boulevard and stop maybe for a hot espresso at coastline cafe in the colder weather or if it’s a bit warmer an ice cold drink to refresh the palate.
For something a little more different maybe spend the evening at Lam Son stadium to watch the dog racing. When the racing is over, it is time to eat oyster porridge before going back to your room to rest softly for the night.
Day 2: Discovering Vung Tau
Breakfast will be the famous Khot Cake at the Ba Hai Shop on Le Loi Street or Long Huong Canh Cake. After breakfast there are a range of options for the traveller. Maybe take in a visit to Binh Chau Hot Waterfall or go to Ho Coc Beach or explore the primary forest or simply go fishing. Then seafood lunch at Ho Tram.
Long Hai Beach
When you head back to Saigon head towards towards Long Hai beach. Drink cool coconut water or go to Long Hai market and eat Cha Gio Ca (Khoai Cake).
Also don’t forget to stop at Ba Ria city. A great place to buy seafood and gifts for your friends and loved ones before venturing back to Saigon towards route 51.
